Changing your plan
Upgrade right away for the difference, or move to a smaller plan at renewal.
Outgrown your plan, or paying for more than you use? Change it from the server's Settings › Plan. Only the server's owner can do this.
#Upgrading
A bigger plan applies right away:
- Pick the new plan. You pay only the price difference for the days left in your current period, rounded up to the cent.
- Pay the invoice. The server gets the new memory, CPU, disk, database and backup limits straight away; they take effect on the next restart.
- Your files stay exactly where they are.
Differences under $0.50 aren't charged; the upgrade just applies.
If the machine your server is on doesn't have room for the bigger plan, the plan card tells you. Open a ticket and we'll move the server to a machine that does.
#Downgrading
A smaller plan starts at your next renewal. You keep the current plan until the paid period ends, and nothing is refunded. Before it can switch, the server must fit the smaller plan:
- no more MySQL databases, backups or extra ports than the smaller plan allows, and
- files using less disk than the smaller plan has.
The panel tells you what to remove. You can cancel a scheduled downgrade any time with Keep on the same card.
#When you can't change plans online
Free servers, servers given to you by our team, and suspended servers can't change plans from the panel. Renew a suspended server first, or open a ticket.
Still stuck? Our team reads every ticket and usually answers within a few hours.
