Free servers
What the free plan includes and how its limits work.
Most games have a Free plan so you can try Rackvane, or run a small server for friends, without paying. Free servers are real servers on the same panel, with a few limits that keep them free.
#The limits
- One free server per account.
- Not online 24/7. A free server stops after about 10 minutes with no players (in games that report players) and after 3 hours of running. Start it again any time with the Start button.
- Removed after 14 days unused. If nobody starts it for two weeks, it's deleted along with its files.
- No backups, and lighter settings: Minecraft runs with a shorter view distance so it stays smooth on smaller resources.
- Free servers run on separate machines. When they're busy, a free server may not start right away; try again in a few minutes.
Heavy games like Rust, CS2 or ARK may not have a free plan, because even an empty server needs a lot of memory or disk.
#Moving to a paid plan
When you want the server online all the time, with backups and more memory, order a paid plan for the same game. Download your world from the free server first (Files or SFTP) and upload it to the new one.
