Schedules
Automatic restarts, backups and commands on a timetable.
Schedules run tasks for you on a timetable: a nightly restart that warns players first, a backup every six hours, a weekly map wipe.
#Start from a template
The quickest way is Start from a template. Templates cover the common cases, like a daily restart with countdown messages, regular backups and, for Rust, the weekly wipe. Adjust the time and save.
#How a schedule works
A schedule has:
- When it runs: a time and days, written as a cron expression (the editor helps you build it). It can run at most once every 5 minutes.
- A time zone: times follow the zone you pick, so a 04:00 restart stays at 04:00 when the clocks change.
- Tasks, up to 10, that run in order. Each task can wait before it starts (up to 15 minutes).
- Only while the server is running (optional): skip the schedule when the server is off.
#Task types
| Task | Example |
|---|---|
| Send a command | say Restarting in 5 minutes! |
| Power action | Restart, stop or start the server |
| Create a backup | Takes a backup, replacing the oldest unlocked one when you're at the limit |
#Example: a friendly nightly restart
- Command
say Restarting in 5 minutes(no wait) - Command
say Restarting in 1 minute(wait 4 minutes) - Command
save-all(wait 50 seconds) - Restart (wait 10 seconds)
#Running a schedule now
Use Run now to test a schedule without waiting for its time. Each schedule shows when it last ran and when it runs next.
