Startup and settings

Startup options, versions, reinstalling and deleting a server.

The Settings tab holds everything about how the server starts, plus the plan, reinstalling and deleting.

#Startup settings

Each game has its own options here, for example the server name, max players, game mode, a password or, for Minecraft, the software and version. Change a value and save; it takes effect the next time the server starts.

Some values are set for you and can't be edited:

  • Slots and memory come from your plan, so a server always gets what you pay for.
  • Ports are reserved for the server automatically.
  • Generated passwords (RCON, admin) are created at install. You can see them here when you need them.

#Changing the version

For games with versions, like Minecraft, pick a new version under startup settings and restart. The right Java version is chosen automatically. Big jumps between versions can change the world for good, so make a backup first.

#Plan

Settings › Plan shows your current plan and lets the owner upgrade or schedule a downgrade. See Changing your plan.

#Reinstall

Reinstall stops the server and runs its setup again. It's the fix for a broken install, or for switching to a fresh copy of the game. Game files may be replaced, so download anything you can't lose first. Follow the progress in the console.

#Web admin

Some games come with an optional web admin, like txAdmin for FiveM and RedM. Its card is on the server page, above the tabs. Turning it on gives it its own port; from the next start the server runs through it, and the game stays offline until you finish the setup there.

#Deleting the server

Delete server removes the server, its files, databases and backups for good, so download anything you want to keep first. Unused paid time isn't refunded.
